About the Author
Dr. Stephen Marcone graduated from Syracuse University with a B.A. and a Masters in Music. As a trumpet player, he was a member of an Epic Record's recording group and toured the country taking an active role in the creative and managerial aspects of the ensemble. He holds an Ed.D. in Instructional Design and is Director of the Music Management Programs at the William Paterson University of New Jersey.

Dr Marcone is an experienced musician who became an academic at Syracuse University and now resides in New Jersey where he shares his wisdom with the students at William Paterson University in NJ. Touring, label relations, record contracts,budgets,sponsorships and legal---this book covers all the key areas of concern. Aside from it being a practical guide; it would serve well for those academic types seeking a current based text that could be used in a classroom. In a fluid, ever changing business; this book is about as current as you can get! Make sure you purchase the latest edition #5.
